Kardtects building cards makes it lots of fun to imagine and build new things out of cards. Instead of building just a card tower, why not make it a Rocket Ship card tower! Here is an example of how one can be built, but I’m sure there are other ways too. Send us yours!
In the following, the back of the Grisroc wall cards were used for the Rocket Ship Card Tower. If wanted, a Kardtect (card architect) could ‘draw’ on the back of the solid grey building cards to add finer details to the Rocket Ship. The side example is just straight grey….but 11 levels and 2 pillars high. This makes it over a 4 foot card tower! (And although we show 11 levels, you can do as little or as many as you want. Go 3 or 15 or how many ever!)
To start, for this instance, you make the Kardtects Square. This is the core build to endless Kardtects card structures. Let’s begin.
- Step 1) Hold one card and slightly lean a second against it. Using the correct Lean is Key to building, but is easy to learn and get the feel for.
- Step 2) Next, place a third card on the other side by leaning it against the corner of the first card. Lean and angle it in slightly so the final card can rest against both the 2 and 3 card positioned.
- Step 3) Place a fourth card to the face of the unfinished square to finish it. (for the Rocket Ship Card Tower, the building cards are placed with Grey Sides out)
- Step 4) Now add the roof. To add a roof, and in order to build levels upon it, an overhang MUST be given. This is easy to do. Place a top card so it rests upon the tops of opposite sides, and overhangs. Then, instead of going straight across, it is better to place cards at 90 degree angles to each other. This secures the base square and offers strength in building. You can cover the inner square created or leave it uncovered until the last level.
- Step 5) Now that the roof is on, add another level by following Step 1 through 4. And do it again. And again. And again. And until you have 11 levels.
- Step 6) On top of the 11th level, place a pillar. Begin by holding the center card upright and leaning an upright side card onto it. Place one on the other side and one on top.
- Step 7) On top of the pillar, place a triangle top. Begin by holding two cards out at the base of each other and lean their tops into each other until they balance. (this triangle is tricky- if wanted, tape it. It doesn’t matter)
- Step 8) Now is time for the final touch. The Rocket Ship Legs. Place a card along the side on the second level, on the overhang, and then lean upright cards onto it, on both sides.
Done.
