Kardtects strives to offer a variety of different Blue Prints to show how to build card houses from the numerous collectible cards available in the Kardtects Building Card system. The following Blue Print features the Kardtects signature card house which is often used in the ‘Spot the Card House Photo Challenge’. (More on that can be read here: Spot the Card House)
The signature card house is a quick and simple build. Once the ‘knack for the Lean’ is learned, the entire structure can be built within a minute or two. It uses 50 or 60 cards depending on whether you add trees and grass or not.
If you want to build additional houses of various levels and styles, and add some roadways, streams, bridges, trees, etc. you would have an entire town built with Kardtects building cards. The fun in building card houses is never-ending.
How to build a card house, using the noted cards on the blue print begins, like all structures, with the lean of two cards. This particular structure uses the Kardtects Square Building Method. This involves the forming of a square from the placement of 4 cards leaning on corners of each. Like shown below.
The card house is two Kardtects Squares wide. So from the beginning two cards, a side wall is added, another back wall and then another side wall placed. It is then ready for the front face cards to be added. In this case, two face cards lean against the bottom edges of the side walls. Then the door card is positioned in center.
The roof is then added in the ‘overhang building method’. An important step to follow. The overhang allows space for the second level of cards to be placed. The overhang method is the placing the cards on top by leaving an overhang over the sides, and placing cards at 90 degrees angle of each. Like shown.
The second level repeats the first level process, with the addition of window cards used for front face cards. Since one side is only two levels high, shingled roof cards can be used on that side of the house, instead of across the whole top.
Build the third level, only one square wide, on the one side, and add its roof cards.
Now add some grass and position some trees around. The tree building cards are leaned against each by the pillar method or upright lean method. One upright card leans against another upright.
And there you have the card house.
Done.
