The Kardtects Building Card House system supports various classical and logical elements of child development with its ‘Back to Basics’ attitude of fun and play with children.
Yet, it also supports the needs and expectations of the new methods of recognizing and addressing the basic needs of children and how we can best support and encourage them, especially in their younger years.
One such system is called ‘Montessori Education’, named after the Italian physician, Maria Montessori, which, although based on her research of ‘phrenasthenic’ children, who are children suffering from a degree of mental challenge, her system is designed to provide a structure to support the development of a child, through principles of independence, freedom within limits, respect for the child’s natural psychological manner, as well as their physic and social development.
Part of the Montessori System includes a focus on the elements of education being:-
- An arrangement that facilitates movement and activity
- Beauty and harmony, cleanliness of environment
- Construction in proportion to the child and her/his needs
- Limitation of materials, so that only material that supports the child’s development is included
- Order
- Nature in the classroom and outside of the classroom
With the principles of the ‘Back to Basics’ nature of the Kardtects Card Building systems, with offering a sense of definition by presenting printed cards with expressed design, but all cards being the same size and giving almost limitless creative opportunity, the system sits perfectly within the Montessori program.
Although, as said, this ability of Kardtects, is not limited to the Montessori system, as it’s a shared quality, dictated more by the basic desires and expectations of the children the cards are designed for and we enjoy providing.
Building a card house with Kardtects is easier than trying to build with ordinary, smaller and the more slippery playing cards. Watch the Video on how to build a card house and see the incredible opportunities for Kid’s imaginations to be active with Kardtects. What will they build?!
