pyramid croppedBelow is a list of common terms used while playing with Kardtects Building Cards and building card houses and card towers.  Because Kardtects is an exclusive and all original product, that makes building a card house easier than ever before, there are certain terms Kardtects (card architects) use which might not be familiar to a beginner builder.  Here are the most often used terms.

Kardtect:  A Kardtect is a card architect, and is anyone who builds and creates with cards.  The term Kardtect is a play and combination of the words card and architect.  Become a Kardtect today!

Kardtects is also the name of the company who created the Ultimate and best cards for building card houses.  Kids play with Kardtects Building Cards, or they play with Kardtects.  Either is fine.

The Lean:  ‘The Lean’ is one of the most important elements to get the knack of when building a card house with Kardtects.  The term refers to that certain angle which allows cards to build strong and secure.  Too much of an angle and card houses are weak.  The same happens if the angle is not enough.  ‘The Lean’ is that skill of building that Kardtects (card architects) achieve when cards stand ‘just right’ against each other.  Get the knack of The Lean, and there is no end to what can be built.

The Overhang: Another important element to apply while building is ‘The Overhang’.  In order to build on top of lower levels, there must be space to do so.  By placing the roof of a lower level card structure with The Overhang, it is The Overhang which provides space for higher level building so The Lean can be used.

Card Stands: Card Stands are base pieces to add to a building card to aid beginner builders.  Only one should be used per level.  They are like training wheels on bikes.  They are not meant to be used all the time, but only to help builders acquire The Lean.

The Kardtects Square:  The most common method to build a card house is by creating The Kardtects Square.  This core building method is the formation of a square by starting with The Lean of two cards, adding a third, and then leaning a face card against the two side walls.  From there a roof is placed by using The Overhang method.  This base with top forms The Kardtects Square.

Kardtects can build wider or higher using The Kardtects Square.

T-Method: While The Kardtects Square is perfect for building fast and easy card houses, the T-Method is used if building larger card towers or wider base levels.  It is the placement of cards against each in the likeness of a T.  The T-method was used to build all levels of the record breaking 30 foot card tower, except the last few, which The Kardtects Squares, and a Pillar.

Triangle Method: The Triangle method of building is often used when building slanted roofs on card houses.  It is the placement of two cards leaning against each other along their tops in form of a triangle (with a base).

Pillar Method: The Pillar Method is when The Lean of cards are upright against each other.  This method is used when placing Tree Cards in landscapes, building jungle huts on Stilts, creating Egyptian Pillars for a temple, and many other ways. All the methods used to build are often combined for an overall awesome card landscape.

Kardtects Destroyers:  After a card house is built, what better fun is to then knock it down?  Kardtects gives a way to do this.  The Kardtects Destroyers are dense cardboard Disks are thrown at card houses to knock them down.  The Disks feature different characters.  While the Disks are called Destroyers, so are the Characters on them.  Within each box (Grisroc, Lost Desert, and Forbidden Jungle), both exclusive characters for their set, and interchangeable characters may be found.

Kardtects Checklists:  Kardtects Checklists are awesome!  These illustrate all the collectible cards available to collect and include a small check box beside the image for Kardtects to note which cards they have.  This way Kardtects will know which cards they need or want yet.  Kardtects Building Cards currently offers over 150 collectible cards throughout the building card sets.  More are in progress.  There are common, uncommon, rare, and ultra-rare building cards with various and exciting features to enhance card structures.  What will you find in your packs?

Kardtects Starter Box:  A Starter Box of Kardtects Building Cards includes an ideal amount of cards to get building incredible card houses. The majority of the cards in the starter box are Common Wall Cards so Kardtects are able to build large base structures to later enhance with Expansion Pack cards.  Also included in a starter box are 10 other common cards, 1 ultra rare building card, 2 Kardtects Destroyers, 5 card stands, and instructions.

Kardtects Expansion Pack: Each Expansion Pack offers a wider array of colorful features and architectural designs on building cards.  A Kardtect never knows which collectible cards he will find in a pack.  Yes, he will receive 30 additional building cards (common, uncommon, rare, and ultra rare assortments) , but which cards will they be?  Expansion Packs also include 1 large sized Destroyer Disk, Checklist and instructions.

Grisroc Set: Grisroc refers to Grey Rock and features a grey rock wall card for building.  Although the starter box includes expansion cards for turning a card structure into a Castle, the Grisroc set, like all sets, can be used to build whatever a Kardtect imagines.

Lost Desert Set: The Lost Desert Set, in both starter and expansion cards, feature a common sand stone wall card.  Again, although the initial starter set offers cards to build an Egyptian pyramid or temple, the sand stone wall cards can be used to build anything.

Forbidden Jungle Set: The Forbidden Jungle starter set is unique in that instead of including 100 common wall cards, like the Grisroc and Lost Desert sets do, it has 85 common Bamboo wall cards and then 20 common thatch roof cards.  The starter set also includes 5 other common building cards (2 jungle hut doors and 3 jungle hut window), 1 ultra rare, 2 Destroyers Disks, 5 card stands, and instructions.

But what makes this set most unique is that it features two common base wall cards.  The other one of the set is a common Mossy Jungle Wall, often used to build lost jungle ruins and temples.  The common Mossy Wall cards are currently only found in Expansion Packs.  When an Expansion Pack includes the common Mossy Wall, other cards to enhance them will be also included.
