3)Where is the best place to build a card house?
A carpeted floor or mat with little airflow is the most ideal space. However, placing an initial layer of cards on a hardwood or slippery bare floor allows you to build here too. The following images are included in the Six Best Tips on How to Build a Card House, and shows how you can build on a mat or how a layer of cards is placed as a first level to build on. 4)What makes building with Kardtects Building Cards easier than building with other cards?
Kardtects KNOWS cards and has specifically designed the Ultimate Building Card. This includes careful attention to the thickness, texture, and size in production. Any variance to one of these details can reduce the ability to build a card house the easiest way. From years of experience in building card houses, Kardtects has developed and learned how to offer the best card for building. It’s the small details in certain characteristics that make Kardtects Building Cards better than using the more slippery, smaller, and sometimes more flimsy playing card or index card. By being meticulous during production, Kardtects passes the ultimate building card onto you so you can rediscover the Fun in building card houses!
5) What’s the Kardtects Square?
The Kardtects Square is a foundational and core square that is used to create many of the Kardtects structures. Although it is not the only method to use in building, it is simple to create and is the fastest to build houses with. Once the Kardtects Square is ‘Mastered’, building structures with Kardtects Building Cards becomes limitless.
It begins with Standing one card and leaning another card against its top corner.
Then a third and fourth card are placed to finish off the Square.
The Square then needs a roof which secures the base walls and ties all cards together. The Roof is a very important part and there is special method when placing the roof on to make the Kardtects Square most stable. Roof cards are laid across opposite walls with an Overhang. The Roof Cards are also placed right angle to each other and NOT in a row next to each other.
This method gives space to build higher levels on and secures base walls the best. An inner square is left open and this can either be covered by another card or left open to the end! It gives a hole to look down upon your structure with and is pretty darn cool!!
6)How can I build a second or third level card house?
There are various methods to build a card house. One of the quickest is starting off with the Kardtects Square and adding on. To build a second level, you just duplicate what you did to build the first level. The Overhang of the Roof Cards on the Kardtects Base Square gives you space to build on. Continue by repeating the steps used to build the Kardtects Square. How high can you go?
7) How Strong is a Card House?
Strong. Built securely, a sneeze or small breeze is not going to knock a Kardtects Card House over easily. And would you believe you can stand on a card house? YOU CAN and so far I’ve tested 10 levels of a card house! Now it is true a piece of plyboard is placed over the top to distribute the weight, but below is an image of where I am standing on the 10 levels. And here is a link to the video where I stand on 10. I’m thinking it almost gave way! That would have been about a 3 foot fall, unexpected, and so I don’t suggest doing this any higher without some safety gear! I’m in the lookout for that for I want to try 15 levels! Keep checking back or follow Kardtects on Facebook.
8)How high can a Kardtects Card House be Built?
As of now the tallest Kardtects Card House/Tower is 26’10 inches tall. Almost 3 stories tall! But a taller one is being planned. This current tower took 11 hours to build with the use of a scissor lift. This record for a Kardtects Card House beats the playing card record: both in time and height. It took between 60 to 80 hours to build around a 25 foot playing card tower. It was an important and exciting accomplishment. Kardtects proved building with Kardtects Building Cards is faster and easier.
9)What’s a card stand?
A card stand is an aid for beginner builders. They can be used to help keep a card standing so a builder can practice the ‘Lean’ and eventually not need to use them anymore. Although card stands help in building the first few levels for beginners, they can actually become a hindrance to builders and cause a card house to not be as strong as a card house that uses none. For this reason, they are only encouraged to be used sparingly and only on the FIRST card of a level.
A card stand can also be used to stand Building Cards that are a one time ‘landscape’ or ‘top level’ cards. Examples of this is a card stand can be used to build a fence (as shown)….or to place one card on top of a card house for decoration (like shown). (images coming soon)
And here is a sneak peek at how a card stand can be used on the COMING SOON expansion pack cards! It can be used to stand the Desert Expansion card of the Sphinx (image coming soon)
10)What’s a Destroyer Disk?
FUN! That’s what they are! Ok, but to be more detailed in an answer. Destroyer Disks are cardboard disks used to knock down card houses. On the About page, Kardtects shared how coins of all sizes were used to knock down card houses, but they would dent walls and weren’t very effective. Destroyer Disks are the perfect weight, and come in 3 different sizes, to provide the right force to destroy a card structure. Each displays a Character and are collectible. Will you collect them all?
