Women in Toys, an organization dedicated to supporting, educating, promoting, and encouraging women working in the toy industry, recently announced their 2017 Wonder Woman Awards Nominees. I am so honored to be part of the nominee list for category of Rising Star.
It’s been just over two years since I became directly involved in the toy industry. I had decided to pursue a goal to develop, manufacture, and offer my invention of Kardtects Building Cards to the Toy Market.
Even as a relatively new member of WIT, I have already learned and gained so much from this global network of uplifting and inspiring women. I’m so happy to be part of the growing toy industry and hope to encourage others as I myself am being heartened by the leaders of WIT. The organization paves such an awesome path and actively shares opportunities for women in toys. I thank them for their devotion.
My part in the toy industry began with Kardtects Building Cards. I believed in encouraging back to basic play for children and felt Kardtects was a toy which would definitely nurture those rewarding actions basic play offers. Kardtects cards inspire children to use their imaginations, creativities, and to actively engage in play. This open-ended style of activity builds skills of a child in ways other toys might not. It is often said the more a toy does, the less a child does. Kardtects allows children to explore, discover, and BUILD FUN!
I love to see the structures and designs kids build with the cards. Kardtects cards give kids the power to build incredible creations. They are exclusively designed for building card structures and so building with them is much easier and more rewarding. Kids don’t need to struggle trying to build with smaller, more slippery playing cards; they now have Kardtects! It’s awesome to see the smiles on kid’s faces after they accomplish building their extraordinary structures.
The idea for creating Kardtects was inspired by cards I built and played with when I was younger. These ‘cards’ I played with were not meant for building, but my brothers and I used them to build card houses because they were of a different size, texture, and thickness than playing cards.
I kept these cards and gave them to my kids, their friends, and others to play with. Through them, I saw the classic activity of building card houses come alive with these different kinds of cards. I knew they were easier to build with, and so I further developed, refined, artistically designed, and created the company Kardtects (aka Card Architects) Building Cards to offer a complete collectible building card system. A Kardtects Product incorporates building, collecting, and knock down fun in one small box! It’s fantastic.
I believe play is such an important and vital part of a child’s life; of all our lives. The quote, “We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing” comes to mind. We all need play. And I love playing, building, and sharing Kardtects with kids of all ages.
The excellent Team being formed at Kardtects to build the company and bring awareness to the next generation of building cards is something I’m so excited about. We, as a team of Kardtects, are revolutionizing how to build card houses! I share this nomination with them as well.
Kardtects is rising to new levels and building to ever greater heights in sharing the fun and excitement of building card houses. We at Kardtects love inspiring the building of children through basic play while they are building fun!
