One of the fun additions to the new Forbidden Jungle Set of Kardtects is that you can now build the quintessential architectural addition to the Jungle adventure scene, the dreaded ‘Rope Bridge’.
Now you can link lost temple towers, join grass cliff edges or connect stilted bamboo huts, either by a single bridge, or, by securing each end of two rope bridge cards you can make a bridge span almost twice as long.
Curiously, jungle bridges aren’t just cinematic ‘cliffhangers’, but were actually regarded as an important part of jungle building, so important that ‘chacas’, (the Inca name for a Rope Bridge), were considered to be sacred, and so sacred that if anyone caught tampering with a bridge would be put to death!
The Incas were extremely adept in building rope bridges, which they made from grasses, which they wove together to make a single cable as thick as a man’s body. Some of which stretched for up to 175 feet and were certainly built to last, with many lasting for more than 500 years. How long will your Kardtects bridge last?
