One of Kardtects favorite taglines is ‘Kardtects Builds Fun’ -and Everywhere! We enjoy visiting and learning about new places and then sharing these adventures with you. Plus, while at these interesting locations, we have fun building a card house on site for you to then find in a photo!
Can you spot the Kardtects Card House in the image to the left?
It’s within the image of the Priestley-Forsyth Memorial Library in Northumberland, Pennsylvania. Before the holidays, Kardtects had the wonderful pleasure to chat with Kim King at this awesome, jam packed, and fun filled Library.
Kim had recently won an award for the Nature Nuts program at the library, and I could certainly understand why. Her love and enthusiasm for the library and for children who visit there shows through her work. I had a great time learning about all that goes on in the place.
The library was once an inn called The Cross Keys (1829-1864). It offered lodging to travelers and served as a gathering place. It later became a residence for Joseph Priestley’s family. Joseph Priestley was a prominent community member and Doctor of the area. Eventually, in 1926, the home was donated by the family and became the Priestley-Forsyth Memorial Library. It was the past owners desire for the home to become one of the most beautiful libraries in the country.
It is just that in the way of welcoming families and providing them with an awesome place to inspire the learning and growing of minds!
The numerous rooms of the library are packed full of not only books, but other tools for sharing and gaining knowledge. And the upstairs is home for various themed rooms for kids to enjoy, like the circus, space, or castle room.
Kardtects of course enjoyed the castle room! Here we also built a card house and enjoyed learning more of the fun activities the library offers.
If near the area, be sure to visit! The Library is located at 100 King Street, Northumberland, Pa.
Kardtects enjoys building card houses and fun everywhere! The Library was a perfect host and shares in the adventurous spirit!
